Omega Cal 1021 Constellation Square Gold Dial verify

Hello community,
I came across an Omega with a solid gold dial on eBay. It has a cal. 1021 movement, seems to be running, and I didn't see anything obviously wrong with it. The price is very attractive, almost odd, so could any of you please check it out please.

There are some markings on the back of the dial, could it be refinished?

Also, I have a spare 168.0058 case, but it's stainless steel. I'm wondering if plating it in 18k gold would be a bad idea or look too out of place.

Dial appears to be refinished, the letters are inconsistent in their finish, thicker / thinner, not consistent. A lot of people say stay away from refinished dials but I would add that so so many vintage Constellations have been refinished, that the level of refinishing vs cost plays a big part in things.

Its also got a lot of markings on the dial as well, so ultimately its not in the best condition and refinished, so price probably reflects that which is fair.

Not seen that movement before but as far as the back of the dial goes, this one is actually quite clean !

I think dial is original and survived the scrapper as they likely didn’t realize its gold. It’s a later 70s style Constellation text is correct for that.
Very unlikely to find gold case I would see how it looks in your steel case as a two tone watch
How much did you pay? It may be worth more as scrap 18k

It's almost certainly refinished, but very minor touch ups likely done years ago. Just my opinion though.

I haven't bought it yet. I had this concern about the dial because the asking price is lower than the value of the gold itself, even though it comes with a working 1021 movement, hence my doubts about the dial.

I'm going to try to buy it anyway. I found a 2015 auction that featured this exact same dial, but it was in a solid gold case. Since I have a similar case (stainless steel), I've been thinking about having it plated in 18k gold to match the dial. Given how rare the dial is, it seems like a good deal to me.

What do you guys think?
