Hi there,

It's my first time asking something on the forum, but I have already used it a lot for research. Thank you all for the great content and participation!

I recently bought a C shape constellation ref168.0056, and I have 2 doubts:

According to the serial number of the movement, the watch is from 1971; nevertheless, searching for this model release year, it says it was from 1972. What would that mean? Would this means was one of the first released ones? is that legit?

How do I distinguish if the watch had the dial from the Japanese market or its simply one of the late versions (both with the Omega inscription close to the number 6)?

thank you in advance for your help!

Next time use "Vintage Omega Watches Help, Discussion and Advice" for such a topic

The numbers and years circulating online may be not exact....

Here is another 168.0056 with the same serial range, I would not worry to much about this

Check online if you find more examples

And -most important- enjoy your watch!

A 33,84 serial could easily be a 1972 production date.
It would make the watch an early version.

Movements were produced in large production runs and not instantly cased.
This could have sat in inventory until it was picked for a run of 168.0056s.

More for my own education, but the dial and hands appear to have lume but there’s no T at Swiss made. Did the T come later or am I mistaken about the lume? Thanks!
