The watch is still for sale as the buyer ended up being a scammer and i never received funds from a bank wire. This will now come with a complete set of new Omega hands fitted included in the asking price.
Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
    Cheers Russell.

I have now had the case back removed so I can supply a picture of the movement and the inside case back numbers. The movement serial number is 48.388 149 which you can see in one of my pictures. I have also added a few more pictures of the Speedmaster. Any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.
    Cheers Russell .

    Hi
I was going off the movement number which is 48 million serial from my research dates to 1983 - 84.
    What do you think?
    Let me know.
    Cheers Russell .

I’d go with it being 98-03, this model wasn’t produced in the 1980s.

The serial number data doesn’t always work for dating more modern Omegas.

Yes I did think that it might be too early. 98 - 03 does seem the obvious production time.
I did a bit of research and limited editions or reissues and the like don't conform with omegas normal run of serial numbers and the patterns.
So it was only produced for a very short limited time then?
    Cheers Russell.

According to the Fratello article, it’s not a limited edition, and 5 years is a fairly reasonable production run. :)

It was produced originally in 1997 for the 40th anniversary of the Speedmaster and took a lot of cues from the 2915 but obviously isn't an exact copy like the 60th Anni edition. It is actually known as the 3594.50 'Replica Edition' Not a name you want to use on a watch sales thread but it really is called that internally by Omega themselves. I like it a lot but it wasn't a big success in the 90s. I personally doubt they made that many, a couple of thousand maybe, perhaps over only a couple of years but they stuck around in dealers for a few years more. I can see these watches appreciating from here. No I don’t own one!
