    [IMG] Hello everyone,

It's been quite a while since I posted here because I've been busy in engineering school (Go Gators!) but I have a quick question:

Where the heck can I find a reasonably priced Omega "Beads of Rice" bracelet that would be used on a Cal. 321 chronograph (pictured above)? The lugs are 17mm.

I prefer not to go aftermarket but I guess if I have to I will.

    Thanks,

    Radiozoop

eBay or the for sale section here.

You'll need to do some research as to which endlinks are correct for your watch.

Is it definitely 17mm and not 18mm?

At the time your watch was made, the bracelets were extra cost options for almost all Omega models:

The dealer would have had a catalog showing the cross-matching of case reference to end-links to bracelet. I think the one of the two models shown above would have been correct for your watch, but not sure which one. BTW, the above picture is from a 1963 UK sales catalog. Your watch may be a little older than that.

An Omega Boutique (maybe Orlando or Jacksonville) could probably fit a modern bracelet, but since watches today are so massive, it might not be the look you want. And it will be very expensive.

eBay is likely the best place to look, but I have no idea what to tell you to look for.

    Good luck with your search.

Wow, thanks for your informative post. I will look into everything you said. I actually went to the Orlando boutique a couple months ago to get an extract and apparently my watch had its information destroyed by a fire at their headquarters some time in the 80's, at least that's what they told me. ::facepalm1:: I like today's watches but I really love vintage and I hope the trend goes back to smaller pieces.

    ...to eBay it is!

    Go Gators,

It's definitely 17mm. Just measured with the calipers again. Seems to be a weird size?

Plenty of 17mm leather bands about. Vintage ones would be marked 11/16”.

Not sure if there are vintage 17mm end pieces for BOR bracelets. Most were made for Seamasters and Constellations, both of those were generally 18mm.

Can't help you on price it's the only one I've ever run across, about 5-6 years ago in a LOT of odds and ends.

I believe it is all real, but open to a correction if not.

Well that is disheartening about the rarity of the bracelet (at least this particular size). So far from my small amount of research today I've come across lots of 18mm and up but no 17mm (at least 17mm end links). I'll keep my eyes peeled though! Thanks for your help.

You could find a non-Omega beads of rice bracelet and file down the end links? Would be a much cheaper option and you'll find out if you like the combination to begin with.

570 or 70 end links are both 18mm but likely have the required shape. You'd need to trim a small amount from each side.

I would prefer to stay OEM. I definitely appreciate the advice to make sure I like the combo to begin with, but I have a couple BOR watches (Seiko and such) that I really enjoy, so I'm sure I'll enjoy the Omega bracelet. Thanks!

Like all old bracelets, I would imagine those in really good condition will probably not be easy to find?
