I own a rare Omega Art Collection watch, limited to 999 pieces.
The back reads:

A 727 / 999
© 1987 OMEGA S.A.

The design is abstract and geometric, reminiscent of Bauhaus or concrete art.

I'm looking for any information about:

the artist of this edition

the story behind this model

or its rarity / collector’s value

Photos attached - any help is appreciated!

Best regards,

Not terribly familiar with this but Max Bill and Paul Thalmann were two of the artists. I think each made different pieces (some with gold cases etc). Other similar watches have the artist's signature opposite of the Omega symbol - it appears to have been erased from yours? They seem to sell for 400-700 Euro

Hello everyone.
This is the Omega Art Collection 999, Watch 1987.
Do you have any suggestions for repairing or replacing the art medallion on the back side? 😔

I'd have to see it apart (which, frankly based on those screws, someone has done a few times already!), but it appears that the art and the case back are separate? If so, a piece of acrylic made to match the old one should be a fairly trivial thing to either make or find.

I'll check with the clock tomorrow.
Thank you very much
