I have the chance to pick up a manual wind cal 2211 Omega Aqua Terra XXL 49.2 mm its still in warranty and in great condition with box and papers.

I have always had a soft spot for the watch but just not sure if it's too big or not for me!

It's always nice to get other peoples feedback and opinions especially from other Omega enthusiasts.

Feel free to give your thoughts.

One of my watch buying rules: if you're not sure if it's too big or not, then it's too big.

This is the watch that I am sure too big for me. Very nice design with the subdial, though.

I saw this watch in person at the boutique. IT IS BIG. It makes the P look like a Mickey Mouse watch. I spoke to a customer in the boutique who bought it and he sold it in two weeks because he hit everything with it and he said it was a $&@-/ to wear with dress shirts. Bit some can pull it off if it is loose on your wrist.

I guess they don't call it the XXL for nothing.

I admired this watch in my town's Omega jewelry. Quite too large for my wrist. A wonderful watch, indeed.

Big watch - with the ETA 6498-2 inside - good reliable movement, so no worries there.

But nearly 50 mm? Waaay too big for me.

    Cheers, Al

Spot on IMHO. I've learnt this over the years as well. Your first impression size wise is always right.

1cm (or 20%) smaller would be perfect for me!

I can't seem to depend on the ##mm. I must try it on before I make the decision. I think this is the same watch but the Omega representative has the gold one.

From that expression, I'd guess that someone just arrived at the Omega dinner wearing a Rolex.

My wrist is approximately 7". Here's my Railmaster with the same size 49.2 mm

    Best,

Its big, but I think its really cool too, and the price makes it quite an attractive piece. Its definitely not an only watch, or even a second watch, but as a sometimes watch I'd do it.

Have a limit of 42. Would stretch to 44 for a diver.

I would agree with the statement that the #mm is not the issue -- some watches wear bigger or smaller than the mm size would suggest..

I have a 49mm breitling bentley that wears quite small because of the bezel and the slide rule...

I would imagine that this Railmaster wears very large, because it is all dial, a very thin bezel.. it is going to look very big on the wrist...
