Yep, The underside of the case is the wrong way round - dark side of the moon should be at the bottom?

I don’t think you have to worry. If it was a Rolex, it would be an error case back and worth thousands.

personally, I’d have it fixed. Great QC from omega there!

Thanks, will take it for fixing.

BTW, what did you mean when said: Interestingly, the sapphire back is ok?

Thanx

Just that the sapphire back and the orientation of the 1869 writing looks correct. Just the ceramic piece that looks the wrong way round

so if taking out the back case a re-position it, will fix the issue. right?

I can’t pretend to know the intricacies, but I’d expect so.

My Apollo 8 caseback is misaligned by about 10 degrees, not a big deal. But 180 degrees out of alignment shows really poor QC. Things like this do happen, I remember seeing a freshly serviced Patek Philippe in its factory sealed sleeve with the strap put on backwards, the inside of the strap was facing outside. Bizarre, but somehow it got through the final inspection.

The only thing I would be worried about is was the watch opened up post-factory for some reason and the back put on wrong? Is this a brand new watch bought from AD or Boutique?

It's a press on back so they will reorientate it, but they should do a pressure check before returning it to you.

i checked with OB and yes, this is a new watch bought from Factory. So clearly QC issue. The Boutique assures me that this can be adjusted, but i requested them to send them email about this error, just to see what they will reply.
