On this thread alone 5-7 numbers are mentioned across the range of 0 - 1600. There are some issue number mentioned on other threads too.

I have been informed by my AD in Qatar that they had 12 pieces allocated in the Middle East (GCC countries) and I believe this number is so small.. anyhow I have told them that I am up for it and they will see which numbers have left so I pick one, then pay and they will bring the watch here. I love the looks of it and the fact that comes in such a nice presentation box, never had a hand winding automatic before

You can hand wind all automatics.

Don't think so, several lower and automatics you cannot hand wind (need to shake them to get initial charge). Irrespective of that, this is not an automatic. I guess handwind mechanical is what was meant. Always fun to hand wind

Can you give me any specific examples of autos that you can’t hand wind; I have circa 12 from various manufacturers, decades and price classes and they can all be hand wound....generally interested by the way, not trying to be argumentative.

Seiko 7S26 automatic movement and perhaps ETA 2824 movement comes to my mind off hand that can't be manually wound...
Sellita 200 is also not advisable to wound manually. There are many others I'm sure.

The Seiko 5 series cannot be hand wound. Besides the point that the hand wound movement in the 50 year anniversary model is not automatic.

Also many of the lower end Orient Movements.

Feels strange to start shaking a watch to get it going, but its what is described in the manual believe it or not!!

Ah, that’s my blind spot. I have never owned any products from Seiko.

You don't know what you're missing. Some great watches at reasonable prices and some very nice high-end watches in the Grand Seiko range.

Most automatic movements of great brands too in the last century were not capable of being hand-wound. My Longines Flagship from 1962 is one of these.

That’s what I like about OF, always something new to learn. Now I’m intrigued; what happens when you turn the crown on your “Flagship” when it’s in the normal position? Does it freewheel, is it blocked?

Spent all my morning going through this thread in order to get some more information, now I am totally hooked and hoping to get it sometime in a month or so. The guy from OB said that he put my name down to the list and they informed him that they will not accept any more names, hope I get the watch eventually.. would love and try photograph this beauty as it seems it’s very hard to capture its beauty in full glory!!
