PP AD's don't just give people a full refund as a matter of course, a used strap, and some sighs of wear, no problem sir, here's your £40k as a full refund.

They wouldn’t. Unless you tell them, and even then it’s a grey area. This whole discussion about hmrc is totally ridiculous. Sorry

What happened to this thread? Maybe all of you discussing flipping and trading watches and whether taxes are owed could start your own thread so those of us who want to actually discuss watches don't have to wade through your piddle.

Man, these threads are certainly open to being hijacked....51 pages in to about 'Apollo 11 watches in the wild' and we are talking tax issues in the UK and beyond. Blah.....and boring.

Omega Switzerland does not have a handle or control on their worldwide distributors, agents, OBs and ADs.....each marketing area has their own way of doing things.....some areas required 0% deposit and some of those people already have the watch, others, like the US, required 100% payment and most don't have their watches or any indication when they may get them. That's just the way the system works, could Omega do better, absolutely. They could have, should have, had all of these watches completed and ready to go in the June/July period, it's not like this snuck up on them. But as I've said previously, Omega does not have an Eisenhower-type Supreme Commander that could have organized this relatively minor number of watches (1% of annual production) to be done on time. It is what it is. I just hope this distribution thing doesn't slide into next year, or leave a bunch of paid orders hanging in mid-air.

I think that we have been told off, does that mean we are all in the doghouse?

Nice watch, I have to say I am gutted that I didn't get on the list, I wonder if my OB will have a spare at the end, I'll ask tomorrow, maybe I can get on the ever hopeful reserve list
