Gloves are for image, started a few years ago to give the image of precious cargo. Overblown imo.

A sold watch waiting for pickup shouldn't be wound, worn or played with, but I have no problem with a dealer pulling it out of the safe and showing it to someone, maybe they are a potential customer for the next one, or just an interested collector.

To each their own. I don't need to collect 50 DNA samples on my watch (or more than DNA... refer to "peanut bowl study"), people playing with pushers, crown etc. BNIB means just that!!

If people are interested in seeing it and/or handling it once it is unwrapped and on my wrist, then we can talk, not before.

Yeah that’s my thoughts too. Wouldn’t mind someone else seeing it but don’t think I’d insist on gloves.

One sees with their eyes, not their fingers... unless you are in a special category (which is a completely different story).

I will admit I deleted two responses to this that both mentioned proctologists. I realized I am too mature to write things like that on the internet. 😉

Fair enough. Everyone’s different I suppose. If getting someone else’s DNA (or worse) on my watch is the worst thing that life can throw at me I’ll take it. All my watches have been pre-owned, as have all but 2 of my cars, so I’ve probably had my fair share of other people’s germs anyway. ;-)

Haha yeah I remember that. It’s disgusting when you think about it but our immune systems/stomach are tougher than we give em credit for 😉

This latest turn reminds of a thread a while back on another site....."When you buy a pre-owned watch with a leather strap do you wear it as is, or immediately replace the strap with a new one lest you strap on someone elses DNA mung?" It didn't bother some people but some new owner's had to immediately replace the strap.

Wrist cheese is an acquired taste.

Unless the strap is for all intents and purposes brand new - I always replace leather straps. Leather just picks up too much "other people's funk" for my taste.

To each their own, but that's a very odd post for your very first post here on OF. Welcome aboard.

Lol. I like to make my mark. Just not with leather straps.

Anyway, like others I’m waiting for the call for my 50th anniversary Speedy. It will leave the AD on my wrist!

Just picked up my beauty today!! I didn’t got time to take more photos!
Managed to squeeze a bottle of bubbly and a NATO. 😀😀
From an OB or AD? What NATO did you get?

When are the 321 stainless steel coming?
Omega has not confirmed any SS 321 production plans. It is expected to happen but when only Omega knows.

Very nice watch, but if I had a £1 for every photo I've seen with the protective plastic covers on the watch I would be able to buy another with the proceeds.

I'm keeping the watch for a important personal event later this year, I've many Speedmasters and not a flipper.

Looks great. Agree with the last quote though..... Get that plastic off and enjoy it!

How long did you wait after leaving a deposit? You must have been one of the first in the UAE!

Next day, I was the first one in UAE I think, it's my 15th Speedmaster I'm buying from this boutique and they know I keep them 😀

You don’t have to justify yourself to the double standards troll (stufflers mom) who is selling his for 10k after bashing me for selling mine. You do what you want with it as it’s YOUR watch
