Nah, would have cost around $20k to demolish. And rebuilding on the existing sewer/water/gas lines etc would be far more expensive since you'd have to either test the existing infrastructure for viability, or remove it and start over. Lots more expensive than just simply tearing down and building a new house

Finally picked up my very own a year after the 50th anniversary! Better late than never eh? Had a great delivery experience at my local OB this past weekend ... just in time for the 51st anniversary today. Can’t complain about the time frame since I only inquired about it about a month ago :)

    Hi all,

First post here outside the Introductions.

I received a call from my nearest OB late on Friday to say they had received one so I went to see it yesterday. Like many, I wasn’t sold on the photos but it was a different story in person so I didn’t think twice. It’s my first Speedy on a bracelet but it looks great on it and is very comfortable. I agree with previous comments that it would be better if it could be adjusted more easily.

Unlike most others I like the design of the cork strap. It does feel a bit cheap though and I don’t find it at all comfortable so it’s staying in the box(es).

I wouldn’t normally choose gold but I love it on this watch and wearing it I’ve noticed how its personality changes in different light. It’s very cool against the grey dial catching the light during the day and much warmer, almost glowing, against the dial which looks almost black in lower light.

For me, it’s a stunning Speedy commemorating a very special event and I’m very happy with it.

Yup, you have to see it in person to appreciate how stunning this one is. Is that a goldendoodle napping in the background? You should post more pictures of him/her :D

Close! She’s a cavapoo and she’ll sleep anywhere:

She’d found some other awkward place to sleep when I took this shot last night:

She’s so cute. It is quite funny how they can sleep in awkward positions. And that’s a great shot of the watch. Great lighting to emphasize the moonshine gold. This watch looks great on a variety of colored straps as well!

I cannot believe that there are still some out there without owners, as it has been over a year since the launch.

I was very surprised too. Apparently this one had been held for some time for someone who had eventually gone to see it on Friday and decided not to take it.

How'd you get the bracelet to fit the Panda? From what I understood, this bracelet wouldn't fit the standard Speedmaster.

See my thread at https://omegaforums.net/threads/apollo-11-50th-moonwatch-bracelet-available.96307/page-7#post-1403789. In short, I used a thinner springbar to get the bracelet to fit. The back did not sit flush due to the lip on the endlinks but it was pretty solid (no play) the entire time I had it on the speedy pro. I actually moved that particular bracelet over to my A11 50th during A11 delivery and kept the original one as a spare. The panda is now installed with a Uncle Seiko flat link bracelet.

How is it that Omega still have these in stock? I was on the list at several stores in the UK and never any offers that they had any stock. Does anyone know if all 6969 have been sold? Clearly looks like they still have some available.

Call into a boutique, they should be able to search the mothership computer for inventory for any available
Been a few popping up lately.
