I was offered a gold one 2 weeks ago. Decided not to purchase it, but it was a very difficult decision.
That would be a difficult decision indeed, if one was offered to me today I'd probably go for it, Covid-19 and the financial markets be damned.

If I had the money I would too. I did notice a grey with one unworn at only a couple of grand premium as well. It’s a great looking piece

I think the C-19 situation is why the OB has now have freed up the last of the stock. Orders have came in but people have withdraw their interest due to their own circumstances.

Honestly I'm one of those people. I was crazy trying to get one but I get my money from stock trading so needless to say that this whole crisis really put a hole in my pocket xD. Saw one available for 8.7k usd considering the current conversion rate of BRL/USD in perfect condition and didn't buy it due to the uncertainty of the current economic crisis.

Things I feel are best to avoid purchasing for an extended period (at least for the next 12 months):
1. Another Omega/Rolex/Patek (no matter how cheap).
2. A Duxiana mattress.
3. Leica M body or M lenses (used or new).
4. High-end stereo equipment (Naim, Pass Audio, Harbeth, Quad, AR).
5. Nikon pro-lenses (no matter the rebate).
6. Hermes/VCA/Cartier/Tiffany for the wife (she agrees).
7. Aftermarket auto upgrades.
8. The next Mac something.
9. PS5/X Box.
10. A car.

We did buy a trampoline a week ago! That has led to decreased home insanity.

I'm down for 3 of the above.

Since I managed to help one of our OF members to source a gold Speedmaster and myself and a couple of others have bought the steel version, I was surprised to receive an email today from my UK OB to say that it's likely that they will have one more gold watch and a handful of steel watches still available. I'm really surprised that they haven't all been accounted for.

I believed the were all already sold out...

I’m fortunate to have enough goodies that one more watch won’t spoil the party. My G-Shock DW5600E or Timex M79 keep me happy.

30 k€ is a lot of money in a possible 20%+ unemployment world. To wait to see is a free option.

Just found a new Gold Speedmaster for sale and it’s a watch I never thought I would like but find myself loving a little more each day. But would I really spend £26k on one right now ? I’m not going to mention the inv”ment word but if we’re looking at really hard times for a long period, could the value at least hold its own and still fetch at least fetch £26k back if I was stuck.

The gold value is no where near £26k. Not sure if the 'moondust' raises or lowers the gold melt value; it seems to me like something that would need to be removed from the melted gold, the lowering the value. But maybe it is actually worth a premium?

How did the '......Moonwatch gold and steel, Any in the wild yet?' thread get hijacked to talk about the all gold moonshine version? There is a separate thread talking about that version. Let's get back on topic.....the gold and steel version.

In case somebody is wondering how much it would cost to replace the case of a 50SS (not mine), €4,3K.
