Hi All…I am enjoying ownership of my PO GMT- it is everything I had hoped for and more. That being said I am very interested in the Heuer Monaco Gulf. I have loved it since I first saw it. Anyone have experience with this watch- ? If so, thoughts, comments?

Go for it. It’s the only watch in the current line up that’s worth owning. It does wear large. That 39mm wears like a 44. No joke.

make sure you strap one on in a store.

also check out Calibre11.com, sister site of OF here. Same log in. The Heuer nerds there are awesome.

I've always admired the Monaco without ever trying one on. I'm sure it's a bit of a subconscious connection to the Gulf brand, but seeing the version above sure makes me think of an old school gas pump.

I think the Gulf colours are perfect for this watch....

I have one and its an awesome watch. Get the bracelet for it as well, its a very well built bracelet and the links resemble the watch case so its very cool. Its a big and thick watch so it definitely has wrist presence.

No joke about how large it wears. I always wanted one until I tried it on. No way I could pull it off; the case wears like a flat slab and the lug-to-lug distance is more than my Seamaster.

That 39mm case is VERY deceiving!!! It wears 44mm!
It's a beautiful thing. lots of glass, lots of metal. Very iconic.
It's a must-buy for the car nuts and a no-brainer for any Heuer fan.
I can spot a Monaco half a mile away.
I like it so much, that I had to source the original 1133B, it's a bit smaller... 38mm-- And this wears like a 42mm.

It's a nice looking watch in some ways, but I can't get past the proportions. They just feel odd to me. And 10 years from now a watch with Gulf on the dial will feel like a watch with Marlboro on the dial today.

I guess its a love it or hate it situation..Gulf colours and logo will always be iconic due to the racing history...I don't see it falling out of favour.
