    Hi guys,

Needed your output before the purchase of an Omega albino edition speedy.

There is an italian dealer (well known) who is selling his albino for USD 13750. It's a complete set with box, card, original certificate etc. Missing a 3 links.

Do you guys think that's a good price? I have seen them posted for higher, but they tend to sit for a while. The one's posted for 17k sat on chrono 24 for 3-4 months and finally was traded for lower valuation. I have also heard they trade btw 12-14.5 depending on completeness from dealers, but wanted your input.

Before setting the wire today, wanted to see what you guys think.

    Thanks much in advance.

    Mark

He said i can pay by credit card if i come to his shop. I closed the deal and got a bit of discount from his ask 13750. I am flying to Rome next week for 2 days. Thanks guys. Here is one of the pics he sent me.

Thanks dabbispade. Yes, excited. This would be a great addition to my speedy collection. I was going on business to Paris, so this worked out really well. Also, would be nice to rack up some points on the CC (and added protection)

Do you have a picture of the back of the watch? That’s more conclusive.

Unfortunately a front shot cannot begin to verify these. As the dial and hands where available for awhile.

Italian dealers are not always the most trustworthy.

@dabbispade I am not sure how you can even begin to verify a piece from that one shot.

Foo2rama. I wasn't sure about the market price and hence i asked if it was a decent buy at that price. I did a video call with the dealer as well (he's been a dealer since 2003) and the sapphire crystal caseback looks right with the XXX/500 engraving. Also has original certificate that matches with caseback. Once he offered me a discount, it became a no brainer. I made the decision to go ahead with the purchase, literally in the last 40 minutes!

I was being a bit sarcastic as I asked before to post as many pics as possible.

Yes I think I sold mine for about the same price 2-3 years ago, I would say it’s in the fair range

They are often less reliable than a plumbers estimate!

Was it just last year? Feels like a lot longer than that!

Strange that a complete set limited edition but somehow misplaced a few links?

I do really like these, definitely one of my favourite Speedmaster variants.

Agree. This shot just shows a speedy with an albino set (dial and hands). Nothing proves that the watch itself is part of the original edition.

If you have the serial number, post it in this thread or send me a PM, and I will check if it matches the correct reference number. Like the Mitsukoshi's, there are probably more "converted" watches out there than originals.

    Cheers, Al
