I’ve just bought this omega 6B/542 with a nasty dial
Does anyone know where I can buy a better one or could the rusty bits be restored?
    Thanks

    It looks ok to me
Please tell me why you think it’s a re-paint
    Thanks

May be the picture but everything has a free hand painting feel about it....

    I agree
I did look at other examples and they all seem a bit crude

    Here’s another photo

Wasn't it pretty common for the MoD to repaint military watches in their stores?

I found this explanation for the hand painted dial on another forum
“At some point the MoD figures out that Radium on the dials is not that great and they decide to change this. They go ahead and redial the watches themselves. This was done by hand and thus we have a redialed watch called the "fat arrow":
    Any thoughts?
