Omega 483 problem, replacement

My mom's expensive gold Omega 483 watch started running intermittently, it would run for a few days, stop, then run again. It stopped a few days ago and refuses to run anymore. The balance wheel rotates freely and it appears to be wound fully and won't wind anymore. I'm hoping it just needs cleaning and oiling, but I'm wondering what I might do if it needs replacement. I see used but running 483 movements on eBay for $20 - $40, and I have a few questions (n.b. I'm not much beyond a beginner watch repairer).

I assume the dial is removable. I think my mom's may have some gold in it (it was an expensive watch back in the day), so I'd transfer dials to a replacement.

Also, the crown may be gold as well, so if I get a new movement I'd want to transfer it too to the new movement. I'm wondering how much of the movement needs to be disassembled in order to get the crown and stem off? Or can the crown be easily removed from the stem without taking the movement apart?

What other movements are compatible in size with the 483? Are the 484 and 485 drop-in replacements (someone on the web said this is true, but it doesn't look that way to me). The movement fits into the back of the case, looks to me like it has to be an exact size match unless one either cuts out gold for a larger movement or adds something for a smaller one.

Fix what you have! Buy one off eBay and you’re likely to be confronted by the same sort of problem you already have, or worse. The case back is marked .750 which is 18-karat gold. And don’t consider relying on your “fledgling” talents to try to fix this one. Find a shop who is competent with antique and vintage watches. If you need a recommendation, get back to us. It’s worth having it professionally done. By the way, the crown is NOT karat gold, and it is worn out and not worth salvaging. There is no other movement that will fit that case, and that would accommodate the Omega dial.
