Hi all
What u think, is there any other solution or to find dial or "donor" for it. I do have spare dial from same model in bi color so my sparepart is with "gold" markers...but I would like to have it as need to be ofc.

And what the hell burn it like this? It needed to be hard UV exposure

Thank you!

Sell it.

Why butcher an intact piece when someone else might enjoy wearing it as-is?

That's weird. Even the lume on the hands is discolored towards the center.

UV does not come through holes from behind.

Perhaps someone went way too heavy with oil on the movement.

It is alive! Micro-Triffids?
I think it is what they call a 'plaque assay' on TWIV.

Thank you for answers... I think best option will be to find new dial.

Still I dont know how something like this can happen.

I have one more in box, and to be honest, if I could make all dial to have that look It will be excellent..

Odd - unlikely to be oil - this is a quartz watch and these get very little oil.

New dial is available from Omega.

movement should be checked in order to see if that s battery acid or if further damage to the movement is present

works nice and movement is clean without any signs of previous acid problems.

I've considered buying one of these models a couple of times before, and bid on them as well, the only reason was the UV burn ... I think it might even be this watch

So I'm saddened

Small consolation, I suppose, but it does appear to be period correct...::rimshot::

If this is not from some weird UV exposure, it seems like it would need to be physical contamination. Have you taken the case back off? If so, how does it look inside the case? I guess I would worry that it might be more than simple discoloration and I would want to check into this before spending any more money on it in case you might be getting into something more expensive than you are intending.

Not a lot of UV gets through Hesalite, certainly not UV A, B, or C. Sapphire a different matter, depending on any coating.

Edit: The transmission of acrylic does just make it to the 'soft' end of UVA.

I agree.. if I could get that for my chrono, it would be excellent.

on other hand, today I have talked with one watchmaker and he told me that he did seen problems like that earlier and he presume that this is from some factory oil or simmilar and that this isnt any UV problem.
