Everyone is excited with the re-release of the 321 but what does it mean for vintage Speedmasters with this movement? Will their price tank?
So if we know, will the new 321 movements be assembled from existing NOS parts?
IMO the release of a new cal. 321 speedmaster would be the best marketing campaign for vintage cal. 321 speedmasters.
Not doubting you, but curious how you arrived at that. Because new Speedmaster collectors who have deep pockets, and can afford a new one will learn about this movement, and want to own a vintage iteration? Or again, the new collector will find out about it, can't afford it in its present incarnation, and .go searching vintage because it's more affordable? I have a few cal 321's, can't afford the new one most assuredly, and thus the new one only interests me in as much as the availability, and interchangeability of parts. Thus, i don't actually see how this would affect vintage collectors much other than that, or if it's in one's budget.
IMO the release of a new cal. 321 speedmaster would be the best marketing campaign for vintage cal. 321 speedmasters.
What is the verdict after 2+ years?
Also if there are 321 collectors out there, how did you feel then, how do you feel now?
