Omega 2777-1. I've been assured the dial IS genuine.

I'm assured by the auction house this is an original dial. But:

I can see the wobbly handstrokes in the paint.

A less round O for Omega, never did I see.

A 'G' with an angle in the curve?

"The dial and hands look genuine". Really?

When the MOD re-did the dial with tritium, did they hand paint the numerals back on too?

Post an image without the hour hand blocking the print. Dial seems too perfect to me. Also feel like I usually see a small difference in hand lume color vs lume plots to dial. My personal opinion is something is off.

I'm very doubtful that this fat sloppy print would leave factory looking like this.

I agree that it's a pain to send a photo of the dial with the Omega logo blocked by the hands. Here's another pic.

Honestly, I'm no expert but I feel something's wrong, wrong, wrong.

Agreed this looks horrible from this pic.

Auction houses are honestly horrible at knowing this kind of information.

Does this help? The colour differences will (partly) be because of differences of lighting. I offer it only for comparison of the numbers.

The arrow looks off center too

Wow OMTOM. That is really interesting. What a difference!

That shows up the story. Someone has gone over the original lettering and outer track. The tail of the pheon is asymmetrical in the redo. TBH - it looks like a amateur job.

What a shocker!

There is, in my view, zero chance that the dial is original. Zero.

And for a variety of reasons.

This is what makes OF great.

Something is off for sure!

Original fat arrow dial done by the MoD. There are a few variants. But it is a redial but normal for military.

“Dial and hands look genuine”…. The paint might be new though 😉
