Hi all, I've been on the search for a nice vintage Omega as my first decent watch. I have been looking for something that is flexible and works well in a business and semi-formal environment. I stumbled across this black dial 1954 all original Omega 2750. The seller is asking for $700, but I am having a tough time pricing it because there does not seem to be too many black dial 2750s. Any thoughts, or opinions? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, the seller confirmed there are small arrowhead inserts in the indexes. It looks like small triangles on the indexes. He sent me this picture:
Sub second, arrowheads, black... How can you go wrong. I’m sure the experts will chime in shortly but to me it looks pretty good.
Hm, you are absolutely correct. It looks as if there is no lume on the hands. I suppose that is pretty disappointing.
This is no big issue as the hands can be swapped easily - I am more concerned about the heavy corrosion of the case rim... I would pass - you may find a better one for this amount
Another good point. A closer look and it seems as if there is pitting happening. Such a beautiful watch. I am glad I posted here. Thank you all for your input. The search continues!
Yes correct! As you pointed out they can have or not have the lumen hands depending on the dial. Btw one of my favourite references and I'm a collector of the guillochè version
As mentioned. Hands incorrect. Finding hands to match luminous in indexes could be a problem pitting as mentioned Broken case screw to the left. Watchmaker can remove it, but seller didn’t, so can assume movement not serviced. Can add another $150 - $250 for a movement service I would pass
