Hello everyone - just starting to get into vintage watch collecting and I came across this Omega. Rose gold 18K and condition is good, but I am concerned about the dial. Specifically the "spots" and if this is considered normal aging or if this is moisture damage and effects value. Any thoughts would be helpful, thanks

Evenly distributed around the dial. Curious about the star on it.

Any inside case or movement images?

Never buy with out them

Patina evaluation is subjective, but one thing you might want to keep in mind is that some people have less "tolerance" for patina on gold case watches compared to SS. Assume this is because gold cases are considered dressier. It's also good to keep in mind that however you feel about patina, you may eventually decide to sell this watch and at that point it will matter what others feel about the patina. I'm not recommending that you base your own collecting on larger market trends, but rather just that you are cognizant of the value somewhat objectively, since many collectors keep trading up over time.

Thanks for the informative replies. I didn't think of less tolerance of patina on gold case watches, but it makes total sense. In looking into the star, I believe it was for the Brazil market, but not entirely sure. Here is a photo of the movement.

In addition to the dial, keep an eye on the case condition. The lugs here are pretty soft. Not uncommon for gold, but I'd encourage you to compare it to a case with sharp edges.

Thank you all, and I am going to pass on it and look for a better option. I believe the aesthetics of the dial would bother me some. I appreciate the helpful responses from you all to a newcomer...thanks
