This is a 11.79m serial 351 bumper movement Omega 2577-4 in very good original condition. The serial tallies with a build date of late 1949 which makes this very early as the first of the Seamster range was only introduced the year before in '48. Recently fully serviced by UK repairer 'Thewatchbloke' and still under warranty until May 2018. Running strongly and accurately at a daily gain of around +5s. Written service/warranty confirmation will be provided There are some scratches to the case, which is around 35mm exc crown, but no big dents or gouges, the edges are still sharp suggesting no refinishing. The dial has gilt arab numbers and applied markers and logo and a rather pleasing two tone effect. The acrylic crystal is unmarked, it has no centre logo but those weren't introduced until the early 1950s so it would be a replacement if it did. I have seen a couple of other 2577s with similar 11m serials without the Seamaster dial marking like this so am confident that this is how it left the factory, the dial patina also suggests this, the chronometer grade 2577s also had dials like this though with other additional script. As far as I can tell, this hasn't been restored or refinished, though the clover crown is a NOS replacement, this and the caseback gasket mean that the watch still likely has decent water resistance but I wouldn't recommend getting it too wet: it is nearly 70 years old! Supplied on a brand new 18mm brown leather strap. The watch is located in Birmingham UK, face to face inspection is welcomed. Looking for £495 £400 Including EU delivery by insured post. I will consider selling elsewhere too, try me. The sale should be considered final unless of any fault not mentioned.
