Was offered this watch as a trade but the problem is I am not all to knowledgeable on vintage Omegas. I have been told that it's all original and from 1947. Any clue what a fair value for something like this might be?
The watch, aside from appearing to have been polished over the years does look incredible for it's age. Nice clean movement as well. However the dial is so crisp and clean that it looks like it was made yesterday. I must say though, not being an expert on those textured dials, it would fool me if it was a redial. Hopefully it's original and an expert in these will weigh in to judge it. 👍
To my eyes, the font of “Swiss Made” looks a little off. Also, I thought the cross-hair sub-seconds was more of a late 1950’s style.
I vote for a very well done redial. However, this is the type of thing that you really need to see in person. Especially with waffle dials like this.

It's a jumbo IIRC and if it were original, it would be one of the best dials in existence. I can't see enough of the case to judge it. The difference in value between original and refinished dial is massive in this case, so you need to figure that out before deciding on a price. I'm also leaning toward a good redial. Lume is too perfect and matchy-matchy, the condition of the dial surface is too perfect and glossy, SWISS MADE a little crooked. I just wouldn't be comfortable with it.
Interesting, the watch I'd be trading in exchange is about $1,200 brand new. If we run on the assumption it's a good redial how does that line up in comparison? I have a couple more photos if it helps any
