Bought this Omega off Marketplace for "so cheap that I feel like I stole it" cheap!

Disassembled, cleaned, serviced and running good now.

Does anyone know where I can get an original crown? The one on it is driving me batchit crazy! If all else fails, I will just find one as close as possible and use it, but would rather have an original one.

Before pics are with the yellow crystal.

I love the watch, but its just too small for my wrist....at least for my liking! Still an awesome watch!

Nice catch. Do you have a pic of the back of the caseback?

An "original" crown will be very hard to find, but there are Omega replacements as well as Bestfit replacements.
A stainless crown will look too new compared to the case, so it would need to be aged a bit to look nice, but not aged as much as your crown.

Your problem will be the oversized case tube for this crown. Search for eBay seller latriaz. And talk to him.

Thanks. I was hoping to see a US Army stamp.

The abrasions seem super intense. Could a returning serviceman have wanted to remove the stamp so ownership isn't questioned?

I swear I see a "Y" on that caseback.

Couple more drams and I'll find the rest!

Nica and interesting patina to the dial!
How big is your wrist?
You can get used to this size even with a big wrist.

I wear a speedmaster mark 3 and 32mm watches. You will get used to the new feeling. Maybe you like the change like i do.

Bigger is not necessarily better!
The "Flavor Flav" craze in watches will fade like wide ties.

Whether fashion, investments or women, don't just think about tonight.

Am I the only one that loves the yellow crystal? Man I would give that a light polish and marvel at the look!

I kept the yellow crystal. I polished it up and it looks nice in my opinion. The yellow tint looks unique.

Some older vintage replacement crystals were made from cellulose. These tend to break down over time. It could be flammable and dangerous if you smoke and hot ashes get on it.

If the crystal is yellow as a fashion statement, then OK. If is just very aged and brittle, I’d recommend getting rid of it. We are long past its “sell by” date.

If you like the yellow, get some Elton John/John Lennon glasses.
