I bought out a deceased watchmaker back in Feb 2020 and just now going through the 80ish watches that came with the lot. There is a Rolex datejust, Omega Speedmaster, Seiko Capt Willard a bunch of Elgin, Hamilton, Gruen a few Doxa.

I am going to service it and get it running like it should. I sure like these old WWII era watches even though they are too small for my wrist. I will post pics once it's done and take better pictures

Outside of the case-back will tell you if it was issued.

It wasn't. This was a civilian version. It would have been nice if it was issued.

Still a nice find, I like these dials.

Well, I'm 68.43% positive it's not issued. I thought the issued ones had an engraved caseback. I will have to do some research on that to find out for sure.

Without the engraved case-back it's unlikely to be issued. And the only way you would be able to determine it would be to buy an extract, which would be a lot to spend on a piece like this one unless it was an heirloom.
