Hello,

I've got an Omega watch in my possession which I think is an Omega Automatic 9k Gold watch. Originally bought from Garrards in 1977.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of it's value.

TIA

I assume it's gold-filled, not gold, but can we see a photo from the reverse?

I don't have one at the moment, but it looks plain gold. No engraving or markings

Well, even if we wanted to help with a fly-by valuation request like this from someone who doesn't bother to introduce themself or say "please" or "thank you," it would be impossible without more information. You may want to try a little harder.

My apologies. Please allow me to rectify with a bit more information.

My name is Rob and following my father's funeral, we have started to inventory his possessions and my son found this watch in a case marked Garrards with no paperwork aside from a guarantee which states that the watch was sold in August of 1977, which is approximately a month before he retired. I have asked my son to send me a photo of the rear of the watch, which he stated was plain gold with no marking or engravings.

To clarify, I'm not after a quick sale or anything but more to see whether or not I need to have it insured.

The strap is leather has a gold clasp with what looks like the word 'bros' engraved on it. I did a Google image search and the model it looked closest to was what I mentioned above.

I know the details are lacking but I would appreciate any information anyone may have on it.

Many thanks

The info we need in order to help will be stamped inside the case back. If needed, get help removing the case back, and send us a photo. Please.

Ah I see! Everywhere is closed now as it's 8pm where I am. I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Thank you for the help

The watch needs to be opened by a professional watchmaker. A jeweler might mess it up.

Thank you for this! My first instinct was to go to a jeweler!

Worth taking the time to find the right person who does that all day. A bad scratch cannot be removed and could ruin your precious keepsake forever.
