Hi all!

I haven't had the time to give to OF for an age but I still love you all.

A while back I picked up a 1973 quartz in great cosmetic condition but soon found out that the 1310 module was in need of serious help. My watchmakers can't do anything with it and when I contacted STS they said that Omega will not let any certified service centre work on them - they have to go back to the mothership.

Does anyone know of someone who specialises in these megaquartz, preferably UK or Europe, who will be sympathetic to the originality of the watch? This is a lovely and early example that deserves to tick again.

I would suggest you contact Alan Lazarus at Croydon Service Centre. He may well be able to help.

I sent mine to cjn watches. Chris is a member here. It only needed a new battery and a replacement cover but he would be a good place to start. Wonderful service and I will be sending him all my watches from now on.

If he can't help, On Facebook there is a group called retro and vintage watches and restorations. There are some members of that group who fix and repair acturon and other quartz watches. Some one there might be able to help you. I can't vouch for the level of expertise or qualification of the members there but if you can not find anyone on here it doesn't hurt to ask.( Seems to be a British based )

Other wise a donar movement is another option.

I'm sure I've worked with Chris before or at the very least discussed something with him ... maybe an F300?

First choice will be to repair the original or cannibalise a donor ... this thing is just dirty with some minor scratches. It will come up like new so, at the very least, we'll keep its serial number.
