Hey guys, looking to buy my first automatic omega and found this on eBay, I’m just wondering if this is genuine or not, I have done a bit of research and found the 1020 caliber movement has it marked. Any help will be good!!

    Hello and welcome here.
The Crown is probably a later replacement and the movement will probably need a service at some point. Omegas with a Cal.10XX are most of the time not the most sought after, so don't pay to much.

Once you factor in a service, the asking price starts to look less reasonable. I find this kind of design quite charming, but they aren’t the most sought after models, or the best movements, as @KingCrouchy has said. Do you have service history from the vendor? Even if a recent one is claimed, take it with a pinch of salt unless they can offer documentation for it.

Thankyou, I just realised I forgot to convert to USD whoops, they are asking $430 USD, I was looking at getting a service for it if I did purchase it, I have asked for any service history just waiting for a response

The price does seem better in USD. But other experts will advise better than I.

Ok, not the reference I'm familiar with but I try:

Crown is wrong as pointed out by @KingCrouchy

If you do an internet picture search (always recommened when you check a watch) for that reference number
    1660120
you will find that all other examples are signed "Geneve" on the dial. I didn't find a single one looking like "your" dial.

As the dial looks genuine it could be taken from another watch with a different reference number

Additionally here is an Omega original picture of the 166.0180 which could be the brother watch only without "day"

So I think you should keep on searching for another one!

    Good luck!

I think the dial is right, found some without the Geneve Sign, maybe due to the law forbidding Omega to use it in the 70s, but I'm not sure about that hypothesis.

I will echo on the crown- it looks identical to the dodgy generic my dodgy watchmaker installed on my stepfather's Omega of the same caliber. If it is in fact the same crown, not only is it a non-Omega part, but it is absolutely horrible in every way and you will hate yourself every time you wind it.

It's not a bad looking watch, but the crown alone should offer sufficient reason to avoid.
