Omega 166.091 and 166.0177 acrylic bezel inserts?

Hi all, I realise this is a long short, but I noticed someone on eBay selling re manufactured acrylic insets for an Omega 166.068 200m Banana bezel. I wondered if anyone on here knew of anyone doing the same for 200m SHOM’s or Pilot lines?

I’m in need of an acrylic bezel for my SHOM’s, a modern service replacement isn’t an option, and know full well its a waiting game to get a good used one. But in the mean time I thought as a stop gap a remanufactured acrylic insert might be an option.

any thoughts?

Hello,
Consider that the bezel for 166.091 and 166.0177 are not the same.
On this pic , .091 on the left and .0177 on the right.

Well, there you go, you learn something new every day. I’ve never compared them side by side, but indeed you are right.

So I guess the question is does anyone make a remanufactured acrylic 166.0177 Shom insert?

Out of curiosity where did you find the image you posted above of the 2 inserts detailing the difference between the pilot line and the shom?

I’ve emailed a chap on here about reproducing an acrylic insert and will look get in contact with the company you’ve added the link for.

I did not find it, I personally made it taking pictures at the bezels of my watches 😉

I don’t suppose you could ping me a clean high resolution image of your .0177 insert so that I can potentially use it as a guide for getting one made? If I can find someone whiling to take on the work.

I have found someone to produce a replica and their work is exceptional, so I have very high hopes. So if you can send over any high -resolution images would help hugely!
