Omega 165.024 Bezel / Insert

Good afternoon and after being a lurker for a long time I just wondered if I could ask some advice please . , I’ve had a Seamaster 300 165.024 for a few years that I’ve done nothing with and I’ve just dropped it at the watchmakers for a service .
The bezel Insert is virtually none existent ( looks quite cool I think ) but a mate said that there was someone who made these to a very good standard ( I remember Aldo from years ago when the last time I had one ) but his times have got longer apparently, any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks Mark

Hello,

It would depend on the condition of the bezel (some photos would help here 🙄) but reluming the bezel is possible.
Here is an example of it on a former thread :https://omegaforums.net/threads/seamaster-166-024-advice-on-bezel-and-dial.44424/#post-524981

I know 2 people that have good reputation at this job :
Roberto Tarabella in italy (https://www.instagram.com/roberto.tarabella_watchmaker/) and James Hyman in the uk (https://www.alchemistrelumer.co.uk/about).

You should contact them and see what's possible to do 😀

Are you talking about a .024 insert and not a .014 insert?
I can’t recall seeing many .024’s where the actual bezel insert, as opposed to the lume, was missing

Aldo certainly does the 165.014, 2913 and 14755, was not aware he did also the 165.024/166.024.

The only one that have seen on the 165.024 is a French watchmaker, will find the address. Also, McGyver from this forum is working on a good replacement.

I have this one for sale atm on my eBay store account mate , I’m told it will cost $270aud from memory for Lewis watch co to relume, I was planning to do this but managed to find another bezel to swap it out but because it’s original was going to hang onto it , now I am building another watch a using these sales to fund the build . If you’re interested , I also have the 1039 1/72 (with extra link for bigger wrists) with 516 end links up for sale in the same store . Cheers mate I don’t have notifications on for this forum so best to message me on eBay . @tuaanatapuika is my eBay account for anyone who’s interested

Thank you for the advice and apologies for the super late reply, I might have a typo in the model number as it’s the non date version and I’ll have a search for a pic and post one up , it’s currently with the watchmaker in the queue for a movement only service .

Thanks Mark
