hi guys, Been offered this SM300. All lumen lights up very bright, but dies fast. Imo a 1967 should be very dead? And i am worried about the dial, with the t swiss made t being half covered by the rehaut. Can this be corrected or is it a sogn something is wrong? Caseback says 166 024 - 67, serial no is 28m. Thanks for all your input!
IMO the swiss T's are often partially covered and this is no problem. A little unusual that lume is very bright so could be early tritium relume, but I think also could be original. Very nice watch !
It looks good to me. It's basically impossible to relume the bezel insert, and all of the lume matches so I'd say it's probably legit. I bet it's not cheap.
It is not uncommon for this vintage lume on these to still light up. Omega seems to have used a luminova-like luminescent compound in addition to the radioactive elements, in certain watches from the '40s-60s. I have several with similar properties, including my 165.024, Ranchero, and this 2639.
Dial looks relumed, tritium appears thick and uneven, and hands are maybe 70-80ies replacement, Bezel is correct.
