If you can pop the back cover off the watch there is some numbers stamped on the inside of the case back. If you can take a photo of this it will help as they are the model numbers etc. The 1420 reference is the quartz movement number

Most places you see a Ω that means "Ohms". But on an Omega watch, Ω means Omega. In this case "20" means 20 microns gold plate. The interesting numbers are not on the outside of the case back as you have nicely shown us.

They are on the inside and you will need to open the back to find them. If you can't do so you'll need to bring it to a watchmaker. They can also replace the battery.

Sorry buddy I mean under the back plate (i.e on the reverse side of that). It should just be a push on case back so you should be able to gently open it with a finger nail without damaging the gold plating

No sorry

It is an Omega Seamaster and I think it is a ref 196.0235 based on some Google searches.

It is calibre 1420 movement. Gold plated and has that lovely textured dial.

I will keep digging

Yes, it is friction fit. However... if you've never done it before, now is not the time to start. Any jeweler close by with a watchmaker can do it for you and change the battery as well.

The serial number indicates ~1984, as @DMass suspected.
The battery looks like it's bulging, so if it's not running, get it out ASAP.
If that's just a trick of the light, and the watch is still running, it may be okay.

If the watch isn't running, TAKE OUT THE BATTERY.
