Best to use You Tube for videos.

My movement arrived. I have not yet done anything other than inspect it. There is discoloration on the date ring so it may have been subject to moisture. I need to use the laser cutter to make a movement holder/ test fixture. Should also source a setting stem. These rabbits tend to go deeper and deeper down the hole as they multiply...

Thanks mate - you've clearly been there before 😀. That's exactly what I did. In fact my test rig is completely disassembled because I too was convinced that it was magnetism from screws or base block etc. And like you I won't demagnetise the stepper motor itself because, I think, it has permenant magnets on the rotor (hence my comment about taking that apart too). It's a real mystery to me what else could cause it.

I love your little hold down method there with the breadboard.

These do not show up for sale often. Especially with a 99 cent starting bid. Did not think I would win it, Really close to my bid limit.
The packaging is almost as interesting as the part. Of course one takes the chance that it is as-is. Others were almost as willing to go that high.

Could get a parts movement for half this price. If nothing else it completes one of the parts movements. Which in a way is more effective than yet another project watch.
