I got offered this Omega Speedmaster 105.012 with the original bracelet. The patina of the hands are not consistent. I don't know if this are the correct pushers for the model too. Dial is decent. Price is $4.5k.

I don´t know if we are looking at the same watch but the one I can see looks to be missing lots of printing from the text as well as the sub dials, I wouldn´t describe its condition as decent but poor. The lume appears to be missing in areas and for the rest has a greyish colour, which could be the colour balance I suppose, but either way it is not attractive to me.

The main hands look re-lumed and are also in poor shape and sub dial hands look very worn too. The bezel and bracelet are in similar condition to the rest of the watch which is very tired. Who knows what state the movement is in but to me even at this price with the condition issues this looks like a money pit.

Hopefully your 'watch broker' didn't suggest this was a nice piece... ::facepalm2::

It all looks correct for a 105. Two step case back, narrow T's, DoN bezel, spear ended chrono hand, applied logo dial etc (although the pushers are wrong).

However, I agree with the above. It looks completely knackered. @Spacefruit recently showed an example of a Speedmaster that with the benefit of a service and a clean, would come up looking great. It may be the pictures, but it looks like this watch is the opposit of that. Every aspect looks tired and worn out; the dial, the bezel, the hands, the bracelet. No amount of cleaning will remedy this-it will need replacement parts.

I would stay well away. Especially at $4500

Thanks for the sound advise. I will just wait for a better example to come my way. The seller agreed to a lower price of $3.5k but after reading your comments, better to just pass.

do watches that aren't taken care of naturally age like this? or did it have to go through some sort of beating, left out in the sun for years, water damage for this to happen...?

I don't think so. If it's not taken care of then there's no floor to how bad it can be

There is a vintage ageing and a roughness that adds charm in watches but then there is also just un-prepossessing. To me this watch is the latter.
