Can anybody help me locate links for a 1040 No 12 bracelet with 515 ends, this one was on a Constellation I bought on Ebay, unfortunately it is only 140mm long and I need 160mm 3 full links, you can see where the bracelet steps in, between the 24 and 25 cm mark on the tape, the bracelet is in very good condition, as is the watch P1030691.JPG P1030689.JPG P1030690.JPG

bugger, don't know how I missed that, been looking since I bought the watch last December, it's 19mm but this is how it came, it looks right with the 515 ends, 1.jpg 2.jpg

Those end pieces are for a slightly different bracelet - if you look at the centre of the end links you can see there is a gap there. Looks ok though and that's a lovely dial on your Constellation! 518s come up fairly regularly on Ebay and are also available new from O Frei.

Yes I can see what you mean, I might be better looking for 518's, most of the scratches have polished out of the crystal, looks better now 124483-5a815a8a422f34024de68e7cb3c86c70.jpg

Nice. I recently acquired a smoke-grey dial version (from the sales forum here) - I'll post pictures at some stage.

I find the 1040 a very comfortable bracelet to wear - perfect weight for these watches.

That's interesting. I would tend to agree with you.

Mine has 518s and I think they look a little looser between the lugs on my "C" case than your 515s.

The 515s are definately intended for a different bracelet though. I think I read somewhere on OF that they belong to an expandable or extendable version. What you have is a mixed solution. Your end links belong to this type of bracelet

Does anyone know how many removable links the original 1040 came with? The one I received yesterday has five. It fits me very snugly and ideally I’d add another. The problem is it’s hard to see where another link would fit because the gradation of the links looks right. Is this a full length bracelet and I just need to slim my wrist down?

Never saw an Omega [EDIT: vintage dress watch] steel bracelet (mostly BORs) with more than 5 "removeable" links (actually you can only remove 3 of them)

3 on the northern side (12 o'clock) and 2 on the southern side

    Hope that helps

Thank you. I’ll just have to eat less wrist-fattening food.

So now I’ve noticed that the seller has put up the same bracelet and links again and I’m wondering whether I’ve been sold a counterfeit? He’s got the gold plate version up as well. They are described as “original Omega”. Any thoughts?

EDIT: I’ve been in touch with the seller who reassured me they are genuine Omega. Canibalis3d from other watches in order to extract more £££ by selling them separately. Fair enough. I’m absolutely persuaded there’s nothing dodgy about these bracelets so if anyone’s looking, here’s a link. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-Co...040-with-518-end-Links-Excellent/184033798411Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

You never know, Omega might still have them. Ask your watchmaker or local jeweler to call.

Watchco sold quite a few of these links when they were clearing out stock, so they're out there.

I would add two links, one on each side of the clasp to keep the clasp centered on your wrist. You also need the little spring bars that hold the links together.
