I have an Omega 1000m – 166.093, caliber 1012 with the reference 3386902X.

Service Dial 3 dark blue and B3 bezel.

According to the book Omega Saga, the 1012 movement was created in 1973 (126,000 pieces) . However, the above reference would normally indicate the production year 1971.

Original Milianese 22mm bracelet numbered 37- 1247 - 1265/02 - 237.

According to https://www.omegaseamaster1000.com/ “the 1012 was sold to the professional and retail market from 1976”.

And Omega Seamaster 1000 | Collectors Guide | Omega Passion

Indicates this “1012 prototype movement on or around 1973/74”:

My 1000m:

The above reference 3386902X is therefore a bit of a mystery.

Thanks in advance for any information or points I may have missed.

No, you have a case reference #166.093, caliber 1012, with a serial number 3386902x.
The above reference 3386902X is therefore a bit of a mystery.
Because that is the movement serial# not a reference.
According to the book Omega Saga, the 1012 movement was created in 1973 (126,000 pieces) . However, the above reference would normally indicate the production year 1971.
According to what I have found the cal. 1012 came out in 1972. And i am sure that case reference was used more years the 1971. no mystery here.

According to what I have found the cal. 1012 came out in 1972 (128k pieces). Lets not quible1972 or 73. And i am fairly sure that case reference may have come out in 1971, but was used for several years. No mystery here.
