Hi there, first time posting in here. I was bought an old Omega Seamaster 200m a few years ago as a gift. I just wondered if anyone could advise on the age and value for insurance? I’ve got no idea about it all. It’s not working but it did a year ago...

It needs a new battery if it’s not currently working but was a year ago - that’s the quartz version. As far as age, it’s from the late 80s into the early 90s. That’s about the best you can do.

for insurance appraisals, you’ll need more than someone on a forum telling you what it’s worth. You’ll either need to document it based on sales on eBay or some other platform, or pay for an appraisal from a jeweler. Just beware that jewelers tend to appraise the value much higher than what it is really worth.
