Old family story. What is it?

Anyone else noticed the stamp on the back of the top left lug? Looks like a Portuguese import stamp, if so, would this match with the fact that the case was made Ed Wenger SA of Geneva? Could it mean that the private who bet his watch purchsed it in Portugal?
