Okay, I'm a complete Omega rookie, but here's my 2915-2 situation.

So, this has an original dial, not a service dial? I've never seen 2915 dial in such a shape.

I’m going to nudge this in a different direction.

While I agree with you that this is a very special watch, an exception to the rules against sales posts creates a slippery slope for the next person.

If this was the same OP with a newer and more common Speedmaster, would you feel the same? What about a nice vintage gold Constellation or Datejust? What about a classic 1930’s gold-filled Hamilton?

The fact is that the next time someone posts a rare watch with issues looking for advice, their inbox will be flooded with offers too. The OP has been very open and honest about the intention here. Even unintentionally, this is a sales post and should be subject to deletion. But because this is a “very special” piece, we should let it go?

So tell me good members, where should the moderators draw the line?

Great starting point for discussion.

I started another thread in the Open Section, because I think it has some legs.

Its not in that great a condition:

The running seconds subdial is damaged. The lume has been scraped possibly. At least the printing is intact. As these dials go, this one is in the better part of the bell curve.

Look at the Oval O, the short indices.

So I think it is original, but perhaps not in un restored condition. I am fairly sure the lume has been removed - perhaps as it was Radium to comply with Swiss Regulations?

It's funny. Every time a 2915 turns up everbody is telling me how rare and special they are. But I have the feeling since joining OF every two or three months a 2915 comes along. If it's not here it's at a auction somewhere... I hope the speedmaster market will be corrected soon so everybody can just enjoy their watches again iso talking about the dollars they will fetch... Yes, I'm in a cynical mood today...

i`m pretty sure, there is lume present ob the incices. the running second subdial looks like it has Oil stains. a close up from the old hands could clarify a lot regarding the Lume. does not look like Radium to me. a Geiger would be interesting..... kind regards. achim

You have a very cool watch, good luck on your future sale. Ben bridge charged $150 for shipping, thieves. If it was taken to an Omega boutique, they wouldn’t have charged anything for shipping.

Evan it’s admirable and generous that you are open to discourse about this on both threads, I’ve already said enough, but this is a refreshing departure from the “not a democracy” point of view.

At the end of the day we are in good hands.
