I'm selling my low production number Officine Panerai Luminor Base, Reference PAM00116 (PAM 116). This reference was released only in 2002 and 2003, with 1200 and 300 units reported respectively; however, it is speculated that the pre-2003 Millesimation figures were aggregated across references commonly sharing movements, so the total number is likely to be significantly less. The watch is made of titanium and is nominally 44mm wide. The movement is the manual wind OP X, based on an ETA 6497, but handsomely decorated by Panerai. It has a tobacco dial with painted (sausage) lume hour markers, and is a two-hander, so no good if you count your day in seconds. As can be seen from the photos, it is in good to very good condition (based on the Timezone Grading System); but in the interests of full disclosure, I have included a photo highlighting the major marks on the case and crystal, and another showing scratches on the AR coating that can only be seen under certain lighting conditions. The watch was serviced by Richemont Australia in late 2016 and has been worn sparingly since. It has never been refinished (polished), so all the facets are just as they came out of the factory. The watch comes with most of the full set, but only a photocopy of the warranty card. There are a number of straps shown in the picture set. I will offer the seller one extra strap of their choice in addition to the original leather (pictured far left) and rubber straps that came with the watch. The starting price for negotiation is US$4000. Given the paucity of this reference, and even lower recent sales, I have had trouble landing on a number. Feel free to discuss your opinion on the price. The watch is located in Cooma, NSW, Australia. Tracked and signed-for domestic postage is included in the sale. I would also be open to a face-to-face transaction within a 200km radius, and possibly also Sydney and Brisbane. International enquires are welcome, but we will need to talk in detail about shipping. Payment by direct deposit/wire is preferred, but this too can be discussed. I've been a watch collector for 18 years, and have numerous references for purchases and sales through watch forums and eBay. Message me with any questions, or for extra high-resolution photos and copies of the service paperwork.
