A one off example does not hold water, when there are many examples of quartz watches (as shown above) that easily beat the rate of the Rolex in that story, which was -0.35 seconds per day.
Poor choice of words on my side when I said "common belief". I totally agree on the accuracy subject when it comes to Quartz (not all) vs Rolex or any other mechanical watch for that matter.
