Of all seamaster’s out there, which one is best rival to the submariner?

·I have one sub and three Seamasters. The quartz one I won't mention but my cal 2500 is a lovely watch and the nearest modern comparison to the sub for me. Non of them stand up against the simple beauty of my S300 however.

·For me, I think the LMLE is the perfect Seamaster, and one that rivals even the modern Submariners on a technical standpoint, while offering a more interesting design proposition.

·I think i said it too often already, but i will say it again, for me the 2254 is the most preferable watch and if i had to give other ones up, that would be my choice for my only watch at the moment.

·Yes, all of them are great competitors. Omega is much more innovative in coming up with a few designs vs. just the submariner model (or even just the yatchmaster).

·Any of the Seamaster 300 Professionals. Long lineage (despite the sabbatical in the 80's), increasingly recognisable design, versatile and a staple of the Seamaster lineup. I'd say its pound for pound the perfect alternative to a Submariner... or should I say, the Submariner is a perfect alternative to the 300SMP?😉

I just made a post somewhere that said I had never seen a Planet Ocean (PO) that I liked. Then I saw this post. That's the only PO face that I like.
I am not being mean though. As always, life would be so different if we all liked the same things. As long as folk love their PO, then that's all that matters.
Am looking at a (2018 model) Seamaster 300M Pro, myself.

·I think that my POLMLE and my blue Ti Planet Ocean 8500 are the closest competitors to the SubC (the 8500 and 8900 in steel are too top heavy, and the grey Ti 8900 is not as classy). Oh teh Bling!

·I used to dive a lot, like at least 2,3 dives a week for many years, and I will say Rolex has a history with divers, especially pro diver that no other brand will ever have. I have seen tons op divers dive with reflex as backup, I don’t think I have ever met someone with a seas master. Of course, I never made a point to check out other people watch when diving, and it is possible that I mostly noticed people with Rolex. Seiko is also a popular brand you see a lot around divers. Keep in mind that divers rely primarily on their dive computers. A mechanical Watch is really there for back up.

FWIW, I dove with a 2254.50 backup for a few years before switching to a doxa sub. Most other divers thought I was nuts for even wearing a wristwatch diving given all the modern digital alternatives 😉
