Hello everyone. I bought this Longines Admiral 5 Stars. Because it is a model with so little reference online, I was hoping to get some more information from you. I really love the look, but now that the watch in in my hands I have some doubts that hopefully can be mitigated by some of you. - The hands are short. The indices are so tall that a longer minute hand would hit the indices. Is this an explanation? Or do I have an issue? - The logo is different, the wings are absent and the font is different. In my research I have see this alternative logo but I would be curious to know more.
Looks fine to my eye. As you suggest, it's an eccentric design, and the short hands are a part of that design. Here's an example of the same type of design from a different manufacturer:
ad 1: AFAIK : no issue , you will find similar Admirals on www ad 2: absent wings : as mentioned above This dial is so unique and not "repainted" , so my opinion: enjoy this unique piece!
You're welcome, Daniel, and thank you. And as far as the dial goes, it appears correct. Redials are very tricky to execute well on those type of textured dials.
Did you buy it at Vintage Portfolio? Maximilian has not the best standing here on OF but it seems he is also selling correct watches (as far as you can tell from this pics) Enjoy it!
Hello, this is interesting. I have another possible purchase coming with him, the more I can know the better.
Search for @ev3rcl4r posts. I think that was the second username he used after being banned the first time. I don't recall the original name he used.
Wow, thank you. This is concerning. The other watch is much more expensive than this. This is very unfortunate because his Chrono reviews seemed fine
My ‘73 Bulova Accutron, also with short hands. Along with lots of chest hair, this was the look at the time
Thats weird: when I use the the same keywords under the first fifty pics there is only the OPs watch with this configuration
