I can understand your thinking but feel differently.
I am 64 and the space/moon walk is still inspiring and remarkable to me. I wonder if it is a generational thing. For my Dad it was WWII. For me, I still haven't fully mined the mind-blowing space travel.
I'm 20 years younger than you therefore I never go to see that era so I understand your point.
I do wonder if the interest in space will fade with the next few generations, kind of like sixties and seventies cars giving way to eighties and smaller Japanese imports.
Trump wants to send a manned mission to the Moon in the next couple of years. I hope that they can because I would like to see it and that will help to spur a new generation of Space Fans.
I can understand the interest in pilot watches, but it isn't emotional for me. Diving watches are similar. Ascetically interesting but how many people dive, and of those who buy diving watches, how many dive? Not a requirement to own a diving watch of course.
IWC and Breitling have the Pilot scene wrapped up anyway and Omega would probably find it difficult to take them on. I'm not a fan of Diving or Watersports either but some of the Seamaster Ceramic Chronographs are nice.
Space interest might be revitalized if SpaceX is expanded and supported. But Musk has no interest in Omega so Omega may depend on the Astronauts' personal choices.
Thanks for sharing. It doesn't surprise me that some people aren't into space. But don't discount the level of enthusiasm and interest in space that still remains. Cheers.
The DSOM of range is great and I was drawn to mine by the materials used to produce the watch and the look. The Moon part did have some influence on my decision but there were other factors too.,
I hope that this new Spoopy watch is going to be something good too.
EDIT: i neglected to say that we both share an interest in DSOM.
