Actually I know of two Rolex US AD's that take deposits. Each are in major US cities, Chicago and LA, and unrelated to the other. I have friends with deposits at each of them now. LOL.

News to me and contrary to what a few other knowledgeable folks I’ve seen assert around here - I don’t/didn’t personally know either way.

Which means it was a bad example, not that Rolex couldn’t control who ADs sell to if they wanted.

To Snoopy indeed

Haha, just wanted to see everyone's snoopy updates. Now I feel the need to study and improve my vocabulary. What is happening?

Hi All,

New on this forum as an active user, although have been lurking for 2 years or so.

Just wanted to add to the Snoopy availability discussion - got a call on Thursday and will pick up this beauty on Tuesday. Will post photos of course.

For all those curious:
- I live in central Europe
- I put my name on the Snoopy waiting list in the early afternoon on the premiere day (Oct 5th, 2020)
- I was probably the first person on this AD's Snoopy list
- had to put down a 10% deposit
- this is an AD, not an Omega Boutique
- I have had some reasonable history with this AD, being also the only Rolex AD in my country
- I have been told I am the first one to receive a Snoopy from this AD.

I know from our local, country watch forum that at least 3-4 Snoopies have been delivered through the one and only OB in my country.

Hope it helps and keep fingers crossed for all those of you on waiting lists.

from what you shared, I assume you’re located in Poland and you placed your order via AD - Kruk, am I wrong?😀

what is quite strange that it seems you don’t have any Omega purchase history so your allocation would be against Omega policy.

Are you saying Omega won't let you buy a Snoopy if you have no previous Omega purchase history? That is not the case in the US.

No policy like this exists in most of the world.

Same as Australia one of the first few Snoopy watches went to a 19-20yo kid.

And I know another guy that has never bought from a boutique ever got one a few months / year ago.

I agree as I got mine with zero purchase history at an OB. I had to wait 18 + months and I paid in full on day of release but I still got it.

There was no policy about being an existing customer, I hopped on the official list and didn’t own any Omegas at that time.

Yep, I put some hints in my post for you and Butik to put the dots together 😀

Well, what can I say - no idea about Omega policies. I once owned an Omega, purchased from another AD, evidently couldn't have been on any sort of clients' list at Omega. Especially in view of the fact that European Law would forbid Omega to run such lists without collecting the clients clear consent.

Got my call earlier this month after almost 1.5 year wait. The way the silver dial catches on outdoor light is mesmerizing.

OEM strap is of great quality but is quite stiff so I put it on my Delugs strap for now.

Congratulations. The only call I got today was from the scam regarding students loans.🤦

I've been lurking on this thread for over a year now. And it has helped me immensely in my acquisition of my Snoopy from my OB (somewhere in Europe).

I realise that there's way too much secrecy on Omega/OB and we as consumers are at a disadvantage, so I hope that my purchase journey would help other collectors in acquiring their Snoopy.

I began my relationship with the OB in early-2021 with a purchase of a PO 600M GMT. Back then the salesman, let's call him Pete, told me to give up hope on acquiring the Snoopy as they will not be allocating any to new paying customers. I returned to the boutique twice in the next few weeks and spoke to different salespeople and got conflicting stories about needing to hit a minimum spend of USD45,000 to qualify.

In June 2021, I purchased a steel Speedmaster 38 for my wife and Pete who sold me the PO started to encourage me to build up and expenditure with them. He told me that a USD25,000 spend would put me on a waitlist but I would surely be considered. When pushed for a timeframe, he wouldn't reveal anything.

In December 2021, I purchased a half gold Seamaster 300. Pete was still playing coy, and told me that since I've hit USD25,000 spend, I'm definitely on the list and the wait could be 9 - 12 months. In February 2022 when I popped by the OB to say 'hi' to Pete, he told me confidently that I'll definitely get an allocation within 2022. So that made me really glad.

In January 2022, when I popped by the boutique hoping to try the new terracotta AT, he told me that his management has raised the bar for the minimum spend and I'll need to spend at least USD33,000 to make the 2022 allocation.

With so much sunk cost in this pursuit, I felt a little bit like I was being held hostage (my bad, I know, for playing these games with the OB). I countered Pete by saying that if I could bundle the Snoopy with another watch that costs USD8,000 (to make the USD33,000 target), I'll go for the purchase. Pete says to give him time to convince his management.

It took him just another two days to say the deal is on. So I bought the Snoopy with another watch.

First congrats on the Snoopy, I hate Rolex AD's for their business practices on SS models so you can imagine how I feel now Omega (or at least your OB) is doing business like that as well. I got into Omega with the Apollo 11 50th anniversary and never would have thought it could go anyway different like it's now with the Snoopy.

Do you mean you purchased and have the watch in hand, or instead only that you’ve been “allowed” to put a full deposit and wait for your allocation?

In any event, while I’m glad you’re getting the watch you want, this saga you recount bizarre and sad-sounding.

I picked up my Snoopy yesterday. Once again - no Omega history, no bundling deal, nothing. Just got on the waiting list on Oct 5th and paid in a 10% deposit. Sorry to hear some OBs are playing Rolex games...

Anyway, this watch is just mesmerizing in person. Only some very good, studio photos do it a justice.

wow…
I bet this is the mother of all fake news.
The whole story is simply ridiculous and unbelievable, anyway if there is 0.0001% that this really happened, you got scammed… but you truly deserve it.

bottom line: I call all this BS 😉
