It was not reserved or if it were, the beneficiary had already turned down the opportunity to buy. It was delivered to a boutique by the Place Vendôme.
That’s surprising. Headquarters has taken lists of clients from each boutique and they have the purchase history of these clients and are controlling order of distribution. The pieces being delivered now should all be reserved, I find it surprising one is just available.
As far as i know, by reading many threads / topics (i live in Europe as well), many people have made deposits and wait their watches... There are also others who wait to be included in a list in order to reserve watches... It really sounds weird if there is any available watch for purchase, even if someone has cancelled his order.
I would have handed over my credit card without any moment of hesitation for a perfect Christmas gift for me
Well, feel free to call them if you are interested and in the neighborhood. Omega Boutique. 362 rue Saint-Honore, Paris. Reading some comments here, I have the feeling that people believe I made up the story. Well no. « Real life experience « on Friday at lunch time.
Not suggesting you made up the story, just perhaps you don’t have complete information. There is massive demand for this watch, and it looks like the first watches are leaking out slowly. I also believe it was a display only model and not actually for sale. I have been informed boutiques may be receiving display models. Like I said, distribution is being controlled by headquarters based on the client lists submitted by each boutique. There is absolutely no way one of these is just available for walk in purchase.
i dont doubt you, although certainly it would seem to some ppl that this is not possible given its known popularity. Wish I can be in Paris.
No offence my friend... I just refer the situation of many people who belong to waiting lists and they have made deposits and they are still waiting the watches without any feedback...
I have no clue of the level of demand for this watch and I doubt anyone (apart from Omega) has a comprehensive assessment of that level.
It was not a display model. I was offered to purchase it, while I have no interest in the watch and no interest in flipping. You speak of « massive demand », « lists controlled by HQ » and say that there is no way I could have been offered to buy it. Do you have any information that support these 3 statements please ? Or is it just your own belief ?
Rest assured that the first two statements are correct. On the possibility of being offered the watch I will give you the benefit of the doubt. It could well be that someone who was allocated a watch from the first batch didn't take it for whatever reason and you walked in at the right time while being a very good customer of this boutique. Don't judge other people making assumptions as long as you do them yourself...
1 of 5 into Sydney this week. The case back has a great 3D effect. The dial absolutely sparkles. Rotating very Earth disc cool. Another great piece from Bienne!
Congrats -- whatta stunner! Looking forward to hearing some updates if you're able as you spend a bit of time with it.
Sacha Davidoff did an unboxing of his (he said he was number three to get one in Switzerland) on Instagram two days ago. Looks amazing, and every bit of packaging was really well thought out (an insert from the larger box pops out and becomes a travel case for the watch). https://www.instagram.com/tv/CI6IS01FyP8/?igshid=11h1en19vk9yy
I've heard more people have received their Snoopys, but have been asked by OB not to show them on forums and social networks yet.
