Got this a year ago without knowing much about it, except the relation with Bulova. It has an interesting engraving that says "Love, Lynn". I doubt it's true but I like to believe this piece saw some action during Vietnam, judging by the overall condition of it. Gave it some TLC recently and I'm waiting for a caliper to arrive so I can measure the crystal to order a new one. I guess it counts as being obscure since I bought it not knowing these are fairly popular.
Nice “Sea Hunter”...congratulations! What year is it? If you are unfamiliar with Caravelle/Bulova date codes, they typically appear on the case back as a letter, denoting the decade, and a single digit, denoting the year within the decade — M=1960s, N=1970s. Attached are a couple photos of my 1969 “Sea Hunter”, M9.

Nice piece sir! Mine is 1970, N0. I love yours though, 1969 is the last year they had the "waterproof" text on the dial. I believe it was late 1969 or 1970 when they had it changed to "water resistant" . Those dauphine style hands look great as well!

I bought the watch in pieces, and it was missing the hands. I was fortunate enough to find a different 1969 NOS Caravelle model that shared the same style hands and movement, and bought it for "beer money" as a donor.

It is done ! I have cleaned it and serviced the movement, changed the crown that wasn't waterproof anymore, it runs great now and it is very pleasant to wear !

A couple of Tag Heuers from the 80s.
An 840.006 Super Professional
And a 180.123, the only full size automatic night diver in the lineup

Always wanted one of the Tag Night Divers in the day.

Picked this up a couple of years ago.

1960s English brand called Le Cheminant ( The Wanderer).
BJacsV.jpg
The model is a Valjoux 92 powered Master Mariner.
Had lived in a drawer for 20 years.
A light clean, new crystal and service and away it went.

Beautiful piece but just too small for me at 36mm.

I sold it to fund a Speedmaster.

No regrets.

Those are beauties - but Eberhard Scaforgraf an “obscure vintage watch” ??😕
How about calling a “cult vintage dive watch”?

Great looking watch. Bears a strong resemblance to the Rotary Aquaplunge chronographs of the same vintage, though I don't believe those had Valjoux movements.

Yeah, it seems to be a parts bin special!

The case, bezel and even the dial and hands all seem to be fairly well sued across a few brands of the era.

And you are correct, the movement is a slight step above some competitors.
