50 year old Citizen skin-diver.
Born, just like me, in October 1969.
Very kindly gifted by fellow OF and great friend @Mitka.

If I only had stood the tests of time, and still was as smooth and well kept as this lovely thing!馃榿

These two showed up at my house on the same day, one from a service and one from an eBay seller. I鈥檓 enjoying both of them, and the Benrus in particular is really fun. It鈥檚 just so unique.

Everyone seems to be looking for one these days. It took quite a bit of patience to find one I was happy with.

Yet another Caravelle 666 diver in my fleet. Not the standard devil set up. Cool, chunky, auto and Swiss. Can the hands get any thicker? Funny that even the white paint glows.

There are a bunch of variations on these, some labeled as Jubilee some as Whittnauer.

This one seems to tick more boxes than any other one I've seen: amazing condition, steel Bakelite bezel, red date wheel, dual branded movement with push the crown quick-set and that very cool red second hand.

Anyone recognize the movement?

I believe it is a Wittnauer movement C11 series movement, adapted from a Record/Longines caliber. Note the unusual KIF shock protection.

It appears to say something like 1954-2 near the balance, although it's a little blurry, so that might not be correct. That could perhaps be the Record caliber designation.

The watch is nice. It has a lot of the standard components that you will find in some of the better late 60s/early 70s skin divers. It's entertaining to see the same external case-back engraving on so many watches from different companies, e.g. my Helbros Invincible, which has now been appropriated by my wife. 馃槈

Yes, its marked 1954-2 but I couldn't find anything using that or 1101.

Looks like it's the C11KS-1, which as the quick-set date.

Yeah, I love these things and they can be had for less than $200 if you're willing to sift...
