    Hello all,

I have a 6610 Explorer and I accidentally pulled the crown out this morning. I am wondering about where to take it for repairs. I had a watch stolen while at the official Rolex Service Center in New York and have also heard they are risky for older watches. I have heard of a repair place called Grand Central. Anyone have recommendations or advice?

    Thanks in advance!

    Don

Any competent watchmaker can tighten the screw for the crown, it only takes about 5 minutes max. Nothing worth sending away, unless it needs full service.

What did they do to fix the situation when your watch was stolen?

Central watch will call for a complete overhaul. That's how they operate imo. Anything I've taken them - they say 'complete overhaul'...
They are the best in NYC as far as I know but there are other watch makers you can go to in the jewelry district and just get it done quickly / cheaply. Try this guy when he's at his bench: Dimitrie Vicovanu http://www.mastersoftime.com/appr.html
He's awesome and you can watch him work- it's a joy to watch actually. He's only there on certain days though so check his schedule.

Agree - Central Watch will want to do a full overhaul for $1500 or something. 47th is probably a good bet.

I am also a 6610 owner in NYC. I wouldn't trust anyone but the vintage experts with mine. LA Watchworks does great work, and it's worth shipping it to California for the extra piece of mind.
