Hi guys, This is coming to you for sale out of a junk shop in UK. Back says ref 105 003 65 but the rest seems later. Hands are replacements but what about the originals included? Having trouble making out if its an out and out cobbled together Franken or an entire earlier case and back with a later movement thrown in. Apologies for the terrible pics...like I said junk shop guy. I think the movement is 69/70.
It can’t be an entire earlier case since the case back and mid case are from different references. I don’t think any part matches another!
When I saw the pics I assumed that it was a 69 with an "incorrect" caseback. I think it's easier that it was a 69 serviced with newer parts and an incorrect back vs a 105003 that would have had a case swap plus a newer movement
Hmm, I have got enough bits to make a whole Speedmaster. It looks like it spans 4 decades of manufacture. Who knows what watch that movement came from.
Caseback is worth more than the rest of the watch, isn't it? Assuming that the other side is decent looking and not polished to nothing.
